The Collective Vice Society and the Cyberattack on the Bluets Maternity Hospital

The collective Vice Society is at the origin of the cyberattack carried out on October 9 against the maternity hospital of the Bluets. This group of hackers regularly targets hospitals, unlike other hackers who oppose touching healthcare facilities.

The hacker group Vice Society claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on the Bluets maternity hospital on October 18. The establishment, crippled by ransomware, has five days to pay an undisclosed sum by authorities, in which case the hackers will upload all the data taken hostage. The hospital has about fifty beds and provides several thousand births each year.

According to information from the JDD, the maternity unit has been strongly impacted since the cyberattack which occurred on October 9: the establishment has been forced to reduce its reception capacity, the centralized monitoring systems of the vital functions of babies in utero having been rendered inoperative by the 'offensive. The administration makes it known that certain consultations, in particular in PMA, would also be canceled.

Recent Ransomware Attacks

The Recent Ransomware Attacks (RRA) site acts as a watchtower, providing you with near real-time ransomware tracking of attacks, groups and their victims. Given threat actors’ overarching, lucrative success so far, ransomware attacks have become the most ubiquitous, and financially and informationally impactful cyber threat to businesses and organizations today.

The site’s data is generated based on hosting choices of real-world threat actors, and a handful of other trackers. While sanitization efforts have been taken, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy of the data. Attack updates will be made as source data is reported by reputable sources. By viewing, accessing, or using RRA you acknowledge you are doing so at your own risk.
